Is a hamam in Side worth it?
A plain look at the Basic Hamam before you commit: what the fare pays for, where its limits are, and which kind of traveller it suits — and which it does not.

Short answer
Book it if the whole traditional sequence appeals — dry heat, steam, the kese, the foam, then an oil massage of about 20 minutes — and you want the ride from your hotel and back organised for you, at €20 an adult and €10 a child of 4–10. Look elsewhere if a long massage is the point, if you want to choose the building or need the pickup time the moment you book, or if pregnancy or a heart or circulatory condition rules the heat out.
What the fare pays for
Six things, and the fare covers every one of them:
- Transport between your hotel and the hamam, both ways
- Time in the sauna
- Time in the steam room
- The kese — a full-body scrub on the warm marble
- The foam wash
- A basic aromatic oil massage of about 20 minutes, once the kese and the foam are done
The hamam supplies a towel and a peştemal. Inside, the order and the timing can shift a little with the venue and with how busy the session is.
What the outing costs, all in
Every guest from 11 upwards pays €20; children between 4 and 10 pay €10; up to 3, nothing. Two adults come to €40, two adults and a seven-year-old to €50.
Outside the fare, and only if you choose them: a longer or different massage, which the hamam sells on the day at its own price; drinks; and a tip for the attendants, customary but never required — we set no amount. The fare is paid on the day, no card is asked for, and the booking screen shows the full total before you confirm.
How much of the day it takes
Keep about 2.5–3 hours free between being collected and being dropped back, both drives included. We give no figure for the time inside the hamam, because the order and the pace vary with the venue and the session. Your pickup time, and where to wait for it, reach you before the day.
The trade-offs, stated plainly
- You do not pick the building. Guests go to the hamam selected for their hotel's transfer area, and the photographs on this site may not show the one you visit.
- No clock time yet. The pickup time is set per hotel and confirmed before the day — not at booking.
- The massage is basic. About 20 minutes of aromatic oil massage; a longer or different one cannot be booked or priced here in advance.
- Tomorrow at the earliest online. For today, you can only ask us and we check.
- Nine pickup areas. A hotel outside them is not booked online; send us an enquiry instead.
- Swimwear stays on for the whole visit.
- Drinks are extra.

What we cannot tell you before you book: which hamam building your area goes to, the pickup clock time, and how long you will spend inside. The pickup time, and where to wait for it, reach you before the day; the time inside is not fixed.
Who it suits

- A family with children of 4–10 at €10 and under-4s free, always with a parent — see the hamam with children

Who may prefer something else
- Anyone for whom a long massage is the main reason to go
- Anyone who wants to choose the building, or know it in advance
- Anyone who needs the pickup time the moment they book
- Pregnancy, or a heart or circulatory condition — and if you are sensitive to heat or humidity, or under medical care, ask a doctor first and tell the hamam before the session
